If the NBA rules don't change, Calipari says UK is going to have a young team in just about every year

A Tipton Alert is in effect.

Repeat:

A Tipton Alert is in effect.

"It was the biggest day in Kentucky basketball history," Calipari said in comments he made before taking questions from reporters. "I wasn't talking to the past. I was talking of the future."

Comments? If history is not easily associated with the future, can this properly be call a fallacy of equivocation? Extra credit: Write a syllogism that gives history two meanings. Papers on my desk by Friday.

(I copied this off Tony's paper.)

A. UK's history includes 7 NCs.
B. Cal is UK's coach.
C. UK's 8th NC is history.

John Calipari. The guys is a genius at covering his ass in the future when he can't get to the Final 4. His team is too young, that will be his excuse every March.

^^^^ I'm sorry Anonymous but I don't see anywhere on this comment page where UK fans are bitching about Cal getting "top players".

I'm thrilled at his success so far.

It's wrong to assume that all comments on this open forum come from UK fans. They certainly do not.

But I like Anon.2's spirited defense. If only he knew that most all of us here agree with him ...

I'm thrilled, too, Marc. We just finished the first year of a grand experiment. And the results so far are most encouraging. We all remember what it was like in the before time, in the long long ago.

Besides, what's Cal supposed to do, pass on the best players in the country? "Yes, we know that Tyrone Shoestrings is probably the best prospect in a decade. But we already have a couple of McDonald's All-Americas, and we have to protect against being too talented. So if Bruce Pearl wants him, he can have him."

Extra credit to Ty. (Is it meant to be pronounced "Tie your own"?)

couldnt have said it better.
Next years prediction anyone??
i say 30 wins, and a title.
Kanter, Jones, Knight, Lamb, Poole, Vargas..wow..we will be taller and quicker than last year. We may not have Wall, but we have MORE weapons. May lose more games, but in the end we will be better.
