TIPTON ALERT!
"Former Kentucky players Wayne Turner, Mark Krebs and Perry Stevenson will participate in the Blue-White Scrimmage on Tuesday night, UK announced Monday.
Earlier in the day, UK Coach John Calipari noted on his Web site and Twitter feed that the team needed extra players to provide depth. With Enes Kanter sitting out while he awaits a judgment from the NCAA on his eligibility, UK has only 10 available players.
"Excited for them to be a part of it," Calipari tweeted.
Turner scored 1,170 points in his four-season career. He played point guard for Kentucky's 1998 national championship team. He set UK records that still stand for games played (151) and won (132) in a career.
Stevenson and Krebs finished their UK careers in the 2009-10 season. Stevenson ranks fifth in UK history with 159 career blocks. He averaged 4.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in his career.
Krebs worked his way from walk-on to a scholarship player as a senior.
"I'm thrilled they will be able to show the passion and intensity you must play with every time you put on the UK jersey" Calipari said of the trio in a tweet.
Tickets are available at the UK Ticket office or by calling 1-800-928-2287 or at UKathletics.com or ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $10 each."
