How many scholarships do we currently have to give out? Also, on Kentucky.com the roster shows that mark coury is a scholarship player...I thought he was a walk on?.?
Mark was a scholarship player for a period but has since gone back on walk on status. Coach Gillispie stated that due to a arrangement made with the previous coaching staff & NCAA rules he was unable to place Coury back on scholarship. Strange - - -
Actually we don't need any scholarships. For one, none of the blue chip players are coming to Kentucky anyway, and for two, the players Billy is recruiting out of the Juco ranks aren't any better than the walk on's we now have. So What is the need for all of the scholarships?
They aren't any better than the walk ons we have now? You're crazy. Initially they were all recruited by good schools, the likes of USC, Oklahoma, etc...and they've been offered scholarships by UT, IU, Maryland, etc...Do you think IU and UT would take Coury? I mean no disrespect to any of our walkons, but the need for better talent is obvious.
Our biggest need next year will be on the offensive end though. Do you think Maze's 24 pts per game in JUCO will lead to an offensive weapon when the competition increases?

Well thats probably a good thing...we need all the scholarships we can get to replenish the troups.
