Aaron's caption is misleading.

The author mentioned that UK and Georgetown had a couple of coaches in attendance in Cincinnati. Then, in a separate paragraph, the author noted that it was the overwhelming consensus among coaches that "they" - everyone, not just UK - were well behind (in evaluating talent, not in recruiting Fab Melo) because "they" weren’t allowed to go out and watch in April. One coach said: "We’re all just trying to find out where to go and who we like.” And many coaches were frustrated when targets didn’t quite live up to the hype.

Read it yourself. The author's sentence is awkward, but the antecedent of "they" is not UK, or Georgetown. It's everyone.

^ Yeah, I have to agree with Wheatgerm on this. The term "they" is used vaguely, but it seems the refer to most of the coaches.
