A brief note about the linking of articles written by Jerry Tipton-

The comments section of the blog has recently been inundated with questions from a person or two asking why I link articles written by Jerry Tipton to the blog and/or why don't I identify every article that is penned by Tipton.

The purpose of this blog is to provide UK basketball fans with links to every timely/relevant article written about the UK men's basketball team. I will continue to post every article I find about UK basketball no matter who the author is. I'm not going to selectively pick and choose which authors to post articles from, but will instead continue to post every article I find. Fans of the blog can continue to decide which articles they want read and how much weight/credibility should be assigned to everything they read. I'm not going to censor any articles or attach scarlet letters to any authors.

I've posted the links to almost 7,000 UK basketball articles in the past several years. I simply don't have time to include the author of each article or certain articles. An article praising UK recruit Stacey Poole is about Stacey and not the author of the article.

You will get a pretty good idea of the source of any linked article if you drag your mouse cursor over each hyperlink. If you feel better doing this before clicking on an article, feel free. As a UK fan, I prefer to read each and every article about UK basketball. But, to each their own.

The blog is on pace to hit about six million page views this year, so I think a lot of people enjoy the site. I hope you continue to do so.

Go Cats!

Aaron

I agree. Freedom of speech is a privilege that nobody should tamper with. I want all of the news.

It's amazing what people reading a free blog will complain about

Aaron - I hate Jerry Tipton as much as the next guy but I, like you, want to read every UK article out there regardless of author. I am a paying subscriber to CatsPause and your site is the first one I hit and the one I get the majority of my UK news. Keep up the good work dude. And just in case the "pace to hit 6 million page views" doesn't let you know, I, among many others (my friends I can speak for), honestly appreciate the work you put in to keep us up to date on UK! Again, thanks bro!

I appreciate your dissertation. Posting articles won't cut it when you have KSR. You are assisting, soon to be, one of the most despised local columnists. Tipton sucks, and if you truly want to represent the faithful screen your linked articles instead of scouring the web and posting anything that has UK basketball in its context!

Aaron, you are absolutely right. Keep on doing your usual fantastic job of finding all those articles for us, and thanks for all the hard work.

First and foremost, I do appreciate your hard work and dedication to this site Aaron. I do understand your point of view on censorship, which is exactly why I never asked you to remove the links. It is the right of each individual to decide what they do or don't want to read.

Just as this great country gives us the right to voice our opinion in free speech, it also gives us the right to choose whom we choose to do business with or support. I do not choose to do business with or support any article written by J. Tipton. I don't have a problem with the obvious bias that this author has against UK. It is his right to "speak" his opinions. I would even read his opinions even though they differ from mine.

HOWEVER, I will not tolerate his lies. This is the only reason that I am choosing to remove my support for his articles. I don't care how many retractions he prints or whether or not they were "honest mistakes". A person in his position and experience knows full well the ramifications of "mistakes" of that caliber. I do not and will not ever believe that those "mistakes" were commited without ill intentions. Jerry Tipton I hope you take this guilt with you to bed each night for the rest of your life.

Aaron,
Keep up the good work. Yours is one of the only blogs I regularly go to in order to find out the latest in KY basketball news. Don't let the few negative voices drown out the legions of followers who appreciate what you do.
