I linked a story from The January 14th issue of The Republican (a Massachusetts newspaper) that said “UConn recently signed Roscoe Smith of Oak Hill, while the Huskies are also in the running for St. Patrick’s Michael Gilchrist, rated the No. 1 player in the junior class.”
The same author of the above article, Bill Wells, also wrote a story on January 12th that said “Gilchrist is where he doesn’t want to be: on the sidelines. The 6-foot-7 swingman, who has the University of Connecticut on his short list of colleges, has a strained right knee. Boyle said it’s doubtful Gilchrist will play against Findlay, “but not impossible.”
