Wheatgerm!
How does Orton make up the fact he has left school should he RETURN to UK for next season? Summer School?
Need a reasoned, logical voice here to answer this question ...
This was my question, too. At first, without an agent, I thought there was a good chance he'd be back. Now, he's gone.
With Wall Cousins and Bledsoe at the McD AA game tonight, have they left school as well?
Glenrider, yes, he can make it up over the summer. Best case: Daniel finds out before the April 25 draft eligibility deadline that he should return to UK. After missing about four weeks of school, and with only two weeks left in the Spring semester, which ends May 7, he requests, and receives, an "Incomplete" for each course to avoid a failing grade. An "I" should be given only when a reasonable possibility exists the student can complete the work within the allowed period of time (12 months) and that a passing grade will result from completion of the work. He then makes up the coursework over the summer. Yes, a college instructor friend confirms Daniel would have a lot of flexibility there.
So Daniel could return without much affect on our APR. But that seems rather remote, doesn't it? Apparently only an injury will bring him back. So it looks like he's dropped out for good. Just hope the others (Bledsoe, Cousins, Dodson) aren't following suit. That would be extremely damaging to our APR and a huge story - as if Cal's critics don't have enough ammunition. Wall and Patterson are finishing their classes and being team players to the end. And for that, they deserve our deep respect.
Thanks for the info. I don't believe I realized just how hard UK would be hit by the Draft (influenced by the potential NBA Lockout).
I can't remember this many players (supposedly) coming out from one team in the same year.
Agreed, respect anyone who sticks with their classes, really appreciate that.
