Mississippi State coach Rick Stansbury is apparently over the officiating mistake that he believes cost his team a chance to go to the NCAA tournament

"But it was what Stansbury told The Lexington Herald Leader’s Jerry Tipton later Monday that could raise a few eyebrows at the SEC offices."....

Dickhead Tipton, always seams to be at the center of negativity....

You can have your smiley face yes men journalists. I'll take the Chris Matthews of the world and be better off for it. Hat's off to anybody that can play the bad guy and thrive doing it.

Hat's off to Jerry Tipton.

Is that you Jerry?

Being 'the bad guy' is one thing ... being 'unethical' is another ... eg: posting a players grades.
Mr Tipton has slipped to THE DARK SIDE at times (some would say he lives in it) and has printed 'corrections' to his articles, to my knowledge never 'apologies'. It is this behavior over the years coupled with the perceived 'Dark Cloud in a Silver Lining' modus operandi which has turned so many readers against Mr Tipton.

I have never seen anything he has written that is what I would consider unethical. Sounds like message board banter. If you could post a legitimate link to support that charge I will look into it. If indeed he is guilty I will hold him accountable. Until then I will continue reading Tipton like the other guy.

Yeah, I understand trashing Tipton, but this isn't really about him. It's about Stansbury not wanting to say anymore about it, which is good. He let off a little steam, and it's time to move on. No sense inviting a larger fine.

The charge is cumulative over time, no single source is available. However the facts as related are a matter of public knowledge and no one has refuted it that I am aware of.
Rather I suggest YOU do your own investigative research ... truly, you will trust your own work over mine.
I still read Mr. Tipton but carefully ... including his most recent 'error' involving Patrick Patterson's Truck which his parents bought him. A correction to his original story was also published back in Dec/Jan ... a good point to begin as Mrs. Patterson was none too pleased with him.

Glen, I can’t help but notice no links to support “unethical”. If somebody told you he had just received a truck as a present, wouldn’t you assume he was driving it? Patrick did not tell him the truck was in WVA. And how is that unethical anyway? Our friend from Memphis – he hates Cal, and you – you hate Tipton. Somewhere in between lies the truth.

Anonymous (#100, 1000, or 1,000,000) whatever your number in the order may be.

The information IS readily available. What I have posted is nothing unknown to general knowledge.

It IS 'unethical' to post players grades and to report misleading information (eg: Patrick rides off in his truck with friends for a night on the town (Lex) ---- when the truck was in WV and he had dinner that night with his parents). A correction was printed after Mrs Patterson called him. Good luck utilizing 'assuming' in a media profession.

"Patrick did not tell him the truck was in WVA" -- how do you know that exactly?

I do not hate Tipton ... if I did I would practice as so many others do ... they ignore him.

Since you enjoy links so much ... please provide me with a link that refutes the above charges.
The truck incident took place last December 2009. The players grades did take place a number of years ago, I can't narrow that one down.

Look Anonymous,
Sorry about getting a little hot.

You have every right to ask for such proof. Here is a brief start ... they are not hard to find.

Aaron may not permit outside links of this sort, I don't know.

Glen, if those links lead to your evidence that Tipton is unethical, I can only hope nobody innocent ever has you placed on there jury. All opinionated blogs and John Clays responses from Tipton haters like yourself.

Good Grief

Anonymous those are a start.
Shed the comment sections below each article and you do have the factual events which took place. I don't frequent 'blogs' myself ... Aaron's is my first stop always, then one other site ... that's it for the Internet. In the real world its TV, radio and the Lexington paper for me. Over the course of 40+ years I slowly develop opinions.

Anonymous you and I have reached an impasse, like Matter & Anti-Matter.
However you and I are Blue Dust and part of the Big Blue Nation which makes us brothers of a sort.
"I wish you all the best."

Anonymous, those are just a start. Finding Tipton-supporting links is quite daunting.
