If you're a UK fan, you can only hope the school's athletic administration has been at the top of its game

What does it matter? Even if UK exercised due diligence and then some, even if it worked closely with the NCAA in reviewing Bledsoe's academic and amateur status, innocence appears to be no defense.
The coach, the compliance office, the university in general can be at the top of its game. They can go the extra mile and be absolutely flawless. But that won't protect them from sanctions if the NCAA second-guesses itself.
I posted a couple of days ago that I was upset with the University and Calipari over this incident with hopes that I would change my mind. I HAVE NOT. This is a huge disappointment after such a wonderful season and great recruiting haul this spring. What good is winning games and landing top recruits if we have to go through this ordeal. NCAA basketball is and always has been CROOKED. AAU ball is a joke. As much as I hate to say it we would be better off without Coach Cal. If anybody differs feel free to let me know. I am no different tham the rest of you, I want good recruits and championships that are not vacated.
Honestly I don't see how this can be avoided. If you recruit the best your going to inevitably come accross those kids with sketchy issues, mostly which are unknown to the university. When you couple in the insatiable appetite of those that would love to see Cal fail you have a recipe for scandal.
The sad fact is these issues with Bledsoe are probably commonplace but when coupled with what can only be called what it is, base jealousy, you'll see these issues.
just keep doin what we're doin Marc..if we dont then the other coachs will.(go after the top athletes) you can't say that even Tubby didnt tweak the rules a little or turn his head when it was needed, i mean really.
