The Kentucky electorate just voted Grayson the old liner out and Paul the KKK man in. The State of Kentucky decidedly voted against Obama in the last election and Obama and family have never seen the wisdom in even visiting the state. Like in kind, two comments on a Kentucky basketball blog condemning John Wall meeting and playing ball with the President. And yet nobody in the state can imagine why in the world anybody would suggest Kentucky is a racist state? It has so little to do with Rupp and so much to do with reality.
Sadly, Kentucky is chalk-full of hardcore Republicans. However, Republicans are not racists...just a little rigid and resistant to "change" of any kind. As a former Kentuckian, I recall an old saying: If anything major happens in America, it won't happen in Kentucky until about 10 years later. HA! Kentucky is one of the most beautiful states in the land. It's somewhat sad that its image tends to be that of a somewhat "backwards" state. Lexington is actually very cosmopolitan and Louisville (UL aside) actually has a lot to offer.
At any rate, Go Big Blue!
