The New York Daily News says Calipari will surface as the front-runner to take over the Cleveland Cavaliers if and when Mike Brown fails to reach the NBA Finals

The Cav's gig doesn't seem like the type of NBA job Cal would be interested in jumping to, Lebron or not....

I don't see why everyone thinks he is going to the pros. If you want to be successful in life, a person needs to be where their skill set gives them the most competitive advantage. For Cal, he is far better off at UK.

Rumors based off other rumors based on coincidences or other rumors. It's 90% garbage.

The main issue is the fact that Calipari hasn't given a definitive NO to the NBA THIS year, which in itself is ridiculous a year after we hired him.

You can apologize for him until you're blue in the face, but he could kill all of this with one sentence, "I'm not interested in any job besides the one I have."

The fact that he won't do that tells you he IS interested.

UK responded by announcing it was in negotiations with Calipari to restructure his deal "so that he's the coach at Kentucky until he retires," AD Mitch Barnhart said in a statement.
"They want to do something that'll keep me here until I retire," Calipari said. "That's all good. I'm not out searching for jobs."

how much more you need?
until he actually takes a job with the NBA, theres nothing to talk about. sheesh.

"I Love it at Kentucky"

"I'm not out looking for other jobs."

None of those are "I'm not leaving for the NBA" or "I'm not interested in any other job offers", which are just as easy to say.

He gave the same purposely vague responses to the Memphis media when he was heading to Lexington.

He owes us better in year one with all the crap we've put up with from the national media for hiring him in the first place. I could understand being non-committal after 5 years and a couple Final Fours, but this is ridiculous.

Amen!

ok, lets not be so whiny...you want him to personally call you too?..He doesnt owe you anything..try to focus on something positive, i assure you it will be ok.

He owes us everything. Had we not hired him, there's a shot he gets fired at Memphis for getting his Final Four vacated instead of making $4 MIllion at Kentucky. Had we NOT hired him, do you think NBA teams would give him the time of day? We legitimized him and gave him a platform to take over the world.

Cal isn't where he is without Kentucky and Kentucky isn't where it is without the fans, so I'd say there's definitely a debt owed to me and every other UK fan that pours their time and energy into this crap.

Saying NO shouldn't be as hard as you apologists make it out to be. We deserve that after year one. It's not really that much to ask.
