I'm exhausted! Like so many others I'm sure ... I'm really surprised. Especially with Coast2Coast Recruiting jumping the gun earlier claiming Jones to UW.
6-10 Kanter, 6-9 Jones, 6-3 Knight, 6-5 Poole, 6-3 Lamb, 6-11 Vargas damn we got size(vargas and jones both have HUGE wingspan), speed, power, and throw in the veterans..woah.. dang i cant wait til the end of the this year! #1 class for sure, and maybe looking at cracking the top 10 preseason rankings.. gotta love what Cals bringN to the table!!
Yes, I am the victim of a Basketball Jones Ever since I was a little baby, I always be dribblin' In fact, I was the baddest dribbler in the whole neighborhood Then one day, my mama bought me a basketball And I loved that basketball I took that basketball with me everywhere I went That basketball … was like a basketball to me
I even put that basketball underneath my pillow Maybe that's why I can't sleep at night I need help, ladies and gentlemens I need someone to stand beside me I need, I need someone to set a pick for me at the free-throw line of life Someone I can pass to Someone to hit the open man on the give-and-go And not end up in the popcorn machine So cheerleaders, help me out
Basketball Jones, I got a Basketball Jones I got a Basketball Jones, oh baby, oo-oo-ooo (repeatedly)
Talk about a smart decision! This is the best move this kid could have made. I think he finally realized that if he wants national attention and a chance to be selected in the NBA lottery, he needed to pick UK. Welcome to the BBN!
Not to be a real downer guys, but these players have proved nothing at the college level. Can they play, sure, but getting to that Final Four is a whole different deal. I'm as excited as anyone that we've got this class, but I'd like to see some guys hang around a couple of years. We're not even sure Kanter is going to be eligible yet. I'm praying the League has a lockout next year.
Our 2009 class had proved nothing too when they were signed on, and i think we got more than we bargained for. so why not be excited? And also- you assume they will leave after 1 year. I actually see a few here that will have to stay longer. I guess what you could ask is, will they have the right chemistry together to do something significant? Also, help me understand why: Youre "thinking" negative about our #1 recruiting class(by far)AFTERRRR we lost nearly our whoollle team. that just doesnt make sense to me. Is it the one and done thing that bothers you? because if it is, then guess what, if we dont go after them Kansas will, Duke will, Louisville will, UCONN will etc etc...people tend to forget that Cal isnt the only one pursuing top talent- hes just getting more (negative) press over it.
I don't think the "One-N-Done" issue will be something that defines the program once Cal gets into a rhythm here at Kentucky. I'm sure he doesn't want to replace 5 starters every year that leave for the draft. Ultimately I suspect his goal is recruit the best talent available and expect 1 to 2 one-n-done'rs per year with a revolving core of 2,3 and 4 year players.
I think other coaches (Self included ) should continue to recruit Terrence Jones and Brandon Knight. They are absolute idiots if they don't. Since a verbal or promise are virtually worthless, and a financial aid signature is non binding do as Cal does and ingnore them. It only counts if LOI is signed. Until then it is a "F" free for all.

Come on Jaws2, this is something to celebrate. We've got all year to worry about those other issues.
