UK releases a statement which says the NCAA gave Eric Bledsoe academic clearance to play at the school after an extensive review

While I do take some comfort in this, I would take more comfort if the NCAA had not also cleared Derek Rose -- TWICE!! They are a capricious body that brings no good to anyone.

I second that. But maybe new information came to light that makes them have to revisit the original certification of eligibility. I can see that. The question is what should be done after the fact. What is equitable to the school that relied on the NCAA's certification? (We know how they screwed Memphis, but what's the better answer?)

If the NCAA doesn't realize how horrible this makes them look....well then perhaps its time to strip them of their "duties." Personally, I think if the NCAA gives its stamp of approval then they should have to stick by that going forward. It's really not rocket science.
