When you hear the name Dale Brown, the first thing that pops into your head is not the little-known former UK player. The story makes a lot more sense once you realize they're not talking about DALE BROWN.
I have to admit, the headline got me, too. "Dale Brown Returns to Rupp." I thought, wait, is Dale Brown now coaching Dillard? And isn't that a department store? How did he play a role in the Cats' making it to the Final Four in 1993? Is that when his team blew a 31-point lead with 15 minutes to play?
It's like saying former Cat Wimp Sanderson. Or former Cat Don DeVoe. You're thinking to yourself, “Whaaa...? I didn't know he was an alumnus. No … there must be some mistake." And there was.

Maybe he didn't remember a former Cat named Dale Brown. I didn't. Looked him up and I still don't remember him.
