Birmingham school Superintendent Craig Witherspoon met with Alabama High School Athletic Association officials yesterday and says his office will be conducting an investigation into Eric Bledsoe's eligibility

High school eligibility. Not college eligibility, though that could be affected if a trascript grade in a core course is lowered.
This sounds pretty innocuous. After the NY Times piece, the AHSAA needs Witherspoon to check, once again, that all the grades were in order and that Eric was indeed eligible to play his senior year at Parker.
The more they dig the more likely something will creep its way up the food chain, whether legit or not. Just as there are those with agendas that would like a kids grades to go up there are those that would equally like to see them go down, deserved or not.
Unfortunately if they find something it will push the ncaa's hand on the matter to take action on ky for playing an ineligible player. This is how it has happened in the past. The ncaa itself hasn't decided to take action until other associations take action leaving the ncaa looking bad if they don't.
