Something UK fans know all too well. Nice to see somebody stand up against the media's rape of John Calipari.
I greatly respected Jay Bilas for speaking out against this very thing during the Memphis investigation. Finally someone has spoken out again. Let's hope DeCourcy is not the last.
I think the tipping point was the Terrence Jones phone call with John Calipari. He disrespected the kid's public commitment. Besides UK fans, I know of no one or who thinks this was a good thing. The intense and high profile of his decision with thousands watching added to the drama. It just appeared that the Kentucky coach only cared about himself. A promise, for all appearances and practical purposes in recruiting now means nothing. I know UK fans are excited to have Terrence Jones, but it really left a sour in the mouth to everyone outside Kentucky. I have read your comments before and I know one 'really' isn't committed until they sign a LOI. We are not leaders, if we continue to practice this kind of disrespect.
It's been said via MANY news venues that Jones called all the coaches that lost out on the "hat pick", of which Cal was one. Does your disdain spread to the other coaches that Jones called equally or only for Calipari?
Since the article had very little to do with the point of your post and your seemingly narrow view dead set on ignoring the fact I stated above I can only conclude you are just on a anti-Cal troll here to stir the shit.
Marc, Sorry you don't get it. I was making a comment as to why the hatred for Cal by the media has all of a sudden hit such a high pitch. (in reply to Wheatgerm's comment about "the media's rape of John Calipari"
One can be critical without being a hater.
Understanding that is something Kentucky fans are unable to do.
