It's one thing to send a team jersey to the President. Nothing the least bit political about that. But to host a fund-raiser for the Democratic governor of a nut-case Red State like Kentucky? Jesus, what was he thinking?

It's almost like he wants to be hated.

He might try some other nice moves, like: 1) Arguing that the Second Amendment applies only to a well-regulated state militia; 2) Supporting the separation of church and state, and casually noting that Christianity is not the national religion of the Unites States; 3) Supporting Roe v. Wade; 4) Placing his hand over his heart while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, but not while standing at attention for the National Anthem; 5) Arguing that a tax cut for the rich only makes deficits worse; 6) Taking a contrary position to anything Rand Paul might say.

That should do nicely.
