Shaping up to possibly be a record class, 4 or 5 of the top 10 players would be a new fab five....
I think every UK fan would have sold their soul for a 35-3 record if you had asked them before Coach Cal came to the Bluegrass. All you realistically can ask for is UK to be a top 5 team year in year out with a #1 or #2 ranked recruiting class every year. That will ultimately put us in a position to win championships. Lamenting the fact that we got close but didn't win diminishes the fact that we had a FANTASTIC season and had a GREAT group of athletes to follow.
you know the thing about the classes coach Cal is bringing in the kids are class acts and get what it means to play for Kentucky. All us fans heard when we got Cal is he recruits thugs we will be the next Cincy we i just am not seen that. But this 2011 class could go down as the best ever. with the possiblity of having 5 top 10 players is just crazy. to think were we where just acouple of years ago to now. Thanks Cal just keep it clean. GO CATS!!!!!!!!!
Rankings. It's not a science. I'm not sure it's much of an art. How they complement one another is more important.
Add Wroten. He's coming. But no shooting guards or centers. Nice thing about QM, great outside shooter. I'd kill to get Rivers, but we're not on his list. He'd add some nice balance in the backcourt.
With Harrellson leaving, there's room for QM. But if AD wants to come, or Tony, or anyone else, someone on the team is going to have to leave to make space.
When it is all said and done the only thing that matters is winning the NCAA championship. 1996 would have been a flop if they had not won it all. 1997 was great considering what we lost the year before and Anderson's injury. 1998 from the SEC tournament on was just special. Last year was great considering where we had fallen to. From here on out I don't want to say we have the #1 recruiting class, I want to say we are the #1 team.
im in agreement with those who come to the conclusion that last year was a success. I also think that those whose only philosophy is "yeah great but we want championships" miss the point. College ball is great because of the highs and lows, and its unpredictabile outcomes. The moment you win that championship is so great is due to years of effort in getting there. Give me great 8s, Final 4s year in and out sprinkled with a championship every 4-5 years, Ill take it!!

We can get all the great players we want, but it wont be great unless we get the title.
I disagree. I had a lot of fun watching UK last year, and would go as far as to call it a "great" season.
