A relative of Eric Bledsoe and a family friend claim they paid the basketball player's rent while he lived in the Parker High School attendance zone, not Maurice Ford

When you listen to the details of Eric's life it is apparent that he grew up without even the basics that most people take for granted. There is no crime in being poor and ther should be no punishment either.

There is absolutely NO way the NCAA is about to jump on Eric and his Mom regardless of the Gorey details. This isn't about stealing or manipulating or lying or cheating. It is about eating and staying warm. And the NCAA isn't about to get involved. Take it to the bank.

I like your perspective. But even from an NCAA perspective, which is entirely different, there doesn't seem to be anything here. At least on the amateur eligibility issue.

The misunderstanding appears to be that while Ford might have handed a rent payment or three to the landlady, that doesn't mean it came from his pocket.

Sad that this is causing everyone to hire a lawyer.

Glad to see they figured out a way to circumvent the truth.
It took them longer than I thought it would take.

There has to be some money being paid out for this kind subterfuge.

Can't wait to see how Bledsoe's grades are explained. Expect more lying and payoffs.

So if things don't turn out the way you want them to, it must be a lie?

Someone must be paying someone to hide what you know to be the truth?

I don't think you understand how that comes across.

Oh, we gotta tap into this guy's special gift while we have him.

Hey anonymous, where were the moon landings filmed? How many shots came from the grassy knoll? Who in the administration orchestrated 9/11? Did the Queen order the hit on Princess Di? Who has the alien bodies recovered from Roswell? Where is Elvis living? What can we do now to protect the purity and essence of our precious bodily fluids?

Tell us! You're the only one willing to speak the truth!

You forgot to add that Calipari is honest. That completes your assessment.

Come on Germ, you aren't the least bit suspicious?
The shoe fits both ways guys. You believe anything if it is favorable to Kentucky regardless of the truth. I just hate seeing you so mentally imbalanced. Just trying to help a brother out.

avoiding the hard facts...isn't that just like a Kenslutty fan?

Do I believe everything that's favorable to UK? Interesting question. I'll have to reflect.

When the NY Times broke the story, my reaction wasn't to disparage and discount the NY Times. No, my reaction was, "Oh sh*t." Not exactly what you expect from a blind fan, is it?

I just dug up the old post (May 29) to see what I had to say about this story. I said my school might well be in trouble. And I came across this comment from Easy Does It, something I hadn't see before because I normally just have my say and leave.

"By the way, of all the posters on this site, Wheatgerm is the only, and I do mean ONLY person who posts who does his/her best to see things clearly and objectively.

"I disagree with Wheatgerm on some occasions, but that person really endeavors to get it right and still be a loyal fan."

That's rather embarrassing, and appreciated. I'm certainly not the only one.

You have to go where the evidence takes you. But you have to judge the probative value of that evidence as best you can. It's what I do for a living. And it means you have to be open-minded and willing to admit that you probably don't know what really happened and even what you thought was true might not be.

It never occurred to me that the coach might simply have been handing money from one party to another. It explains a lot of what the landlady told the NY Times and gives the story a decidedly less sinister air. But it doesn't explain everything. So yes, there are still questions.
