Luxury suites are a priority for UK basketball, not only as a fan amenity but also as a source of new revenue

Remember when C.M. paid out the cash for the study that illustrated how UK could build a new arena with private investment from the corporate sector? Remember when that one was a done deal? And then remember how fast that talk quieted when he tried to actually get some signatures on the dotted line and found out that maybe the study was a bit over stated?

And remember the IMG experiment? You remember IMG - the group that charged us a small fortune for the study that illustrated how Kentucky could get a new Arena and Ball Park at NO COST and NO OBLIGATION TO UK - by simply letting IMG act as the total management and contracting (and billing) authority? Remember how fast that talk quieted when UK asked them to have those guarantees underwritten? Remember when that one was a done deal?

Well Does everybody understand now that until somebody can put about 300 mill dollars on the table in cold cash there isn't going to be any new arena. Talk is cheap and everybody just keeps on talking. Now they even have Cal suckered into making comments about things he really knows nothing about. Everybody is a talking, nobody is putting. Putting money on the table.

And pleas Mitch don't give us that crap about boxes being fan amenities. The only fan that will ever see the inside of a box except on a tour, will be the well heeled rich white guy that doesn't like rubbing elbows with screaming beer drinkers, but does like impressing others with his exclusivity and wine. The boxes are for them and them alone and the only amenity the boxes will ever provide for the fan is to keep them further away from the floor and reduce the number of available seats to them. That's what boxes mean for the fan, and nothing more. Basically - nothing.

And remember when C.M paid about a 100K for the study that showed how a new arens could be built by private investors -except for when he tried to get the private investors to sign on the dotted line. Remember when that one was a dnoe deal?

So what are you saying? That Lexington will never, ever see a new arena? That the Wildcats will play in Rupp for the next 100 years?

Please.

I am saying there is nothing in the works except chatter from those that have no dog in the arena fight - basically there is nothing.

Anonymous II. Read it and learn something and quit jumping into a conversation where you have nothing to say.
