Seems Stansbury is still stinging from the SEC Championship loss last season.
Hey Rick, would you like a little perspective to wash down that bitter pill......
TIPTON ALERT!
I agree Marc .. it was a tough TWO losses last year for Miss St. I hate that due to the fact Stansbury is a Kentuckian.
However he is taking it the wrong way as Coach Cal was only pointing out how 'fair' the NCAA had been to his player. He never stated they were similar cases.
Calipari is now begging.

I completely missed that is was Tipturd's article. I should have known by just the heading.
Good catch G.
This is exactly the kind of comment for which Stansbury was fined last year. Only now he's suggesting the NCAA is biased, not just the refs.
I don't necessarily disagree that powerhouse schools have more influence than MSU, but take it up with the NCAA through proper channels, not through the press. Maybe the NCAA should suspend him for a couple of games. And incease the penalty each time the recidivist repeats his offense.
And how can Stans complain about favorable treatment when the NCAA just gave him unbelievably favorable treatment by allowing Bost to return? Bost is ineligible by rule, having left his name in the draft (and only trying to return to college after he went undrafted).
What a gift! He should be on his knees thanking the NCAA for creating an exception to the rule and allowing the return of one of his most important players. Yet he has the onions to complain about Kanter before the fact?
WG I agree with you on most of what you said. However, your criticism of Stansbury using the media to try and influence the NCAA should be applied to Calipari as well. Cal used ESPN for his platform to influence the NCAA on the Boss comparison.
Memphis Mike
True, both used the media, but in distinctly different ways. When Cal suggested that Bost might be a touchstone for the NCAA in the Kanter case, he explicity stated that he thought the NCAA was being fair in the matter. He was playing nice.
Stansbury, by contrast, used the media to criticize the NCAA, to repeat his belief that it plays favorites, and that he half-expected the NCAA to give Kentucky a ruling it wouldn't give other schools like his. It's that kind of public criticism of the institution, charging it with discrimination, that caused him trouble last year.
You see this in the NBA and MLB, where a head coach or manager critizes the umpiring crew and is fined or suspended by the league for his remarks. That's what Stansbury is doing. Not Calipari. So I would make that disctinction.
Well said WG.
Stansbury has had a bur up his ass since they lost in Starkville. If anything, it's an insult to Kanter because he wasnt the one dumb enough to leave his name in the draft 12hrs after the deadline and say, oh I didnt know. Guess that's why he's academically ineligible. I used to always like Stansbury, but he has some serious Cal envy. He's becomin a tool.
I disagree with Stansbury's criticism as well. It is not Cal that urks him, it was that god awful call by the ref that took the SEC Championship from him. Both teams played tough but MS State lost because of the ref. Like I say I dont agree with Stans pointing to the NCAA but I appreciate the animosity and the feeling that the game was stolen from him.
WG will you only say nice things if the NCAA declares Kantner ineligible?

Hey Memphis Mike, how about a little consternation for Pearl and his BLATANT recruiting violations, lies and ultimate admission once he was caught in the lies. You want to bust Cal's balls for things he didn't even do and not a peep from you on Pearl, a guy in your own state. See the link below for Pearl's "Letter of Termination" from the school admin that spells it out plain and clear.

(My name is the link as well)
Cal does something like this and the media and haters would be crying for his head, absolute hypocrisy.
Marc, there is no hypocracy. Chill out man!
This isn't a UT forum.
Regarding Pearl, Memphis fans are absolutely delighted to see his demise.
Pearl spent considerable time in Memphis, under Cal's and Pastner' time here, showing a list of arrest charges of previous Mem players that occurred over the last 10 years to prospective recruits. He is and was a piece of shit in our eyes for doing that, but now Karma has done its work.
Now, having said that, I didnt criticise Cal under this blog roll. I pointed out to WG that if Stansbury was wrong for using a media platform to influence the NCAA then so was Cal. WG respnded to that as well.
I am tired of typing..so long
