**Tipturd**

Why would the NCAA even make a statement about the fathers comments???

Could they be going to rule in this manner and not want the perception that they were led to it by an outsider?

Not surprised in the least to see the 'by-line' on this one.
Tipton uses the word 'deal' which is misleading. Plus he fails to mention the NCAA is responding to his own email.

Spokesman Chuck Wynne sent an e-mail Thursday morning saying that the NCAA had no interest in such a deal.

“The NCAA and the University of Kentucky are still working towards resolution on this matter based upon the previously agreed facts,” Wynne’s e-mail read. “While the NCAA would always encourage more education for any prospective student-athlete, Mr. Kanter’s comments will not be a factor in the decision-making process.”

Yeah, Marc, I'm surprised the NCAA commented on this. Why say anything?

It doesn't mean the NCAA isn't considering a one-year suspension. Only that a non-binding promise to return to school next year is no basis for deciding the merits of the case or meting out an appropriate punishment.

In the end, I think this is non-event. And probably, as Glen states, nothing more than pot-stirring by our favorite fair and balanced reporter.

Breaking News:

This is what Chuck Wynne the Director of Communication Strategy for the NCAA tells LEX 18.

"There will be no decision on the prospective student-athlete's initial eligibility until after the first of the year. Any reports saying otherwise are wrong."

Wynne says that the process is continuing.

"The NCAA and the University are still working towards a resolution. We are working collaboratively. We want to bring this to a conclusion with the right answer." says Wynne.

This is really baffling to me, what new "evidence" did UK introduce other than the aspect of the Cam Newton Ruling in this go-round with the NCAA. If the latter was all that was new you would think that a decision, yay or nay, would be pretty quick in coming.

Thanks WG
Now at least I can stop watching for news until after the Holidays.

Marc,
I'm with you ... just keep telling yourself "Its the NCAA" and some level of understanding should come from that.
