Calipari expected UGA's best shot and his team failed to overcome the proverbial punch
Honestly, I have always believed Tipton has had some sort of connection to UofL, the Courier Journal or Rick Pitino. He covers, Uk sports, but does so in a way that borderline offends his readers. Everything you read from his blog seems to be coming out the side of his mouth as he seemingly takes shots at UK and its student athletes at every opportunity. Therfore, we here at AUKBB attempt to alert our fellow followers to all the Tipton articles so others do not waste their time reading the article and give his website undeserved hits.
It's odd, isn't it Nick? Why is Tipton such a gadfly? He's written for the local Lexington paper for 30 years now. We don't expect him to be a homer, but we also don't expect the Spanish Inquisition. No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!
The only explanation that seems to make any sense is that Tipton quite intentionally creates controversy to get more hits on his website and thereby increase ad revenue. He certainly generates a lot of angry reaction. So often, in fact, it has to be by design. If it's not that, then what? It's hard to fathom.
Could be worse. He could be Kent Sterling, the IU extremist. That guy is in a league of his own.
Wheatgerm, I'm in for Monty Python ... "Our chief weapon is 'surprise' ... 'surprise and fear' ... our TWO weapons are 'surprise and fear and a ruthless efficiency' ... oh ... ah
Good analogy and you're right .. this is not a Tipton article.
Wheat, Yea I'm not calling for Tipton's firing or anything, and I certainly love unbiased reporting (a rare luxury in this day and age) but it is just too odd to me that he constantly writes these borderline smear pieces on Cal and his players. I just wonder how he keeps his job. The papers here in Louisville write unbelievably biased pieces in the CJ and they do just fine. I remember a piece the other day after UK beat ND in freedom hall, on a newly painted court in a top 25 match-up in one of the better games I have seen this season. However, the front page of the CJ is about UofL killing San Francisco. Of course our UK coverage could be found on the back page after the local High school athletics rationalizing the win on how bad ND was actually going to be this year. Anyway, I wish the LHL would ask me to write for them, I could do a better job and get more hits than Tipton for sure.
Also, I hope Kent Sterling gets sued. He has a big mouth and rarely reports on anything he does not have an extraordinarily biased opinion on. I like to think of him as the kid who got the tar beat out of him in high school because he was so overly opinionated and annoying. I would absolutely love for Kent to pick a fight with me haha.
