After numerous complaints about the use of the camera by ESPN, Mitch Barnhart said that the camera, which was mounted just under the scoreboard over the court, will no longer be approved for use during telecasts of UK games

That sucks. I liked seeing the plays develop. UK fans will always complain about something. You should know that by now Mitch.
I liked it, too. But apparently we are the only ones. It would still be an excellent view for replays and diagrams.
It was mounted to the bottom of Big Bertha. And how is it that Jimmy Dykes and Brad Nessler don't know the name of the gi-normous speaker system in Rupp Arena?
I didn't care for its use for live game action but it would indeed make a great addition to a sportscasters bag of tricks when talking play development and breakdown.
Agreed fellas, The problem really lay in its use as the 'primary' camera for game action. Replays and diagrams, or even just bringing the ball up the court until the defense meets them should be the use for this angle. I hate to see it chucked out of use completely. Plus, YES! 'Big Bertha' is written on the sound system ... Nessler has never noticed that? Dykes was on the UK staff at one time ... he should know.
'I did not care for the camera above the floor in Tuesday nights game.I could not see if a basket was made or missed.' -- I thought this was the biggest problem too. I gauged the crowd reaction at first to be able to tell if it had gone through the basket.
