What can you say? Really depressing. Many on other boards are predicting 10+ losses for this season now. At this point it is very difficult to argue with that. Disappointed in our veterans.
Yea 10+ losses may not be out of the question. Considering how we play on the road I would expect losses to Florida on Saturday, Tennessee and Vandy on the road. That would bring us to 8 losses. I guess we better not sleep on Arkansas on the road too...
That last 50 seconds was some of the worst coaching I have ever seen too. What will it take for Cal to use his timeouts to his maximum benefit? He is the only coach in the country I know of that would have 2 TO's and not call one with 50 seconds left up 1 point and the ball. Then to compound it he does not draw up a play to deny their one player the ball. That is terrible coaching.
Cal actually said in post-game that they got the shot they wanted. It was the shot they designed for Lamb at Alabama. He just missed it. Way too many turnovers and poor judgment throughout the game. Too young, while Ole Miss utilized their veteran leadership. Florida is up 1 at half over Vandy. Either way it goes, I fear for UK on Saturday. We were a 7 point favorite tonight, now possibly looking at a double-digit loss to UF.
why oh why didnt he just shoot the ball with 11 seconds left??..thats just confidence you have GOT to have- thats when we needed him most. and i just dont think he'll ever have that.
Miller isnt that good guys never has been never will be. Hes at uk because hes a kentucky boy. If cal would of been the coach at the time he liggins or josh would of been here
I could have coached the last possesion when KY was up 1 point. One of the best coaches in college basketball and you cant get your players to run any sort of play when you have the lead and the ball. Just goes to show that they will never win big without having some veteran leadership and the capabilities of winning games that shouldn't be close in the first place. And getting better with only 6 players in out of reach as well, more like getting tired as the season goes on.
Miller turns down a wipe open shot and passes to a covered Liggins with shot clock running down. Let's face it. He will never be the guy. He plays scared. The name on the jersey is too big for him.
not switching up with 1-2 seconds on the clock is really tricky--Liggins is THE man defensively, so he wouldve had to trust the other guy (going by what you said, i dont remember this well) and well, i just think we chalk it up to "nice clutch basket/if not we go home with a win" kinda thought. If he switched, then the other guy wouldve allowed a millesecond of open space and the shot wouldve gone off anyway..so ..i dont know. hell, if Lamb woulda buried that shot we'd be saying great game/great last second shooting on both parts.
If Lamn would have made that shot, we would be saying terrible game, lucky win, that many turnovers and a "poopy" offensive game no way it should have went our way by any means.

Easily could be G.
I have to say our end of game playmaking is horrible........absolutely HORRIBLE!
I guess it's easy to attribute that to having freshmen running the show but I don't think that is all. We are missing something.
Any halfwitted coach can look at our losses and devise a high percentage game-plan to beat us. The Kittens are an easy read.
"The Kittens are an easy read."
-- very true.

Darius Miller has tweeted that he apologizes to the BBN for losing tonight's game.

Was he even at the game, I could have sworn he was not in the gym. (sarcasm)

I can only say that there is NOOOOOOOOO WAY that point guard beats me with the last shot. NOOOOO WAY! Any other player but NOT that guy!
Either these guys can't follow direction, can't execute the switch on the court,or Cal never bothered to dicuss it in the huddle.
If the last point is true, we're in really big trouble.
BTW, Miller has the skills but will never be the guy that wants the ball in his hands at the end. Not in his make up.
