Following the game, UK and Ole Miss players nearly got into a fight on the carpeted runway leading from the Georgia Dome court to the locker rooms beneath the stands
Ole Miss kept holding the ball after a turnover, tucking it under their arm and walking toward half-court with it. Maybe they needed the rest after playing the day before, maybe they wanted to slow Kentucky's pace. But it was delay of game, and the refs should have given them a warning.
First with Warren and then with Buckner, Liggins took matters into his own hands by trying to grab the ball away. Warren didn't react. Buckner did, so much so the ref had to go to him to explain, I assume, that he can't carry the ball down court after the whistle.
I like the fact that someone on this team has some fight in him, but Liggins has to watch himself. He's been getting more aggressive in the past month or two, and it's cost us a few technicals.
I too applaud Liggins play and don't worry so much over his technicals, in both instances he was T'd up for his actions after a questionable foul calls and even one of those was highly questionable. Not one was for taunting or behavior between him and another player.
That being said you can bet the SEC ref's will have their eye on him a little extra from here on out so he best be judicious with his mental games. :)
