Not arm chair quarterbacking here: when we're up 26 I started saying "Cal rest the starters, we play again tomorrow" He doesn't and two more starters are hurt playing with under 2 minutes left and nearly a 20 point lead. Lamb's roll looked bad friends. When you know you play 6 players I can't rationalize what Cal was thinking..obviously he wasn't.

Hindsight is so easy a caveman could do it.

Hindsight?? When you play 6 players, your playing 3 games in 3 days and your up 20 late in the 2nd half it's not called hindsight it's called common sense coaching.

I agree with Doug as I don't understand Cals. thinking when we are up over 20 points and time run ning out. We played a game yesterday, todays game and another one tomorrow. Why would a great coach chance not wanting to rest his "starting six" late into the game?

Hard to second-guess Cal. We have zero history of closing a game out well, we have no solid players to substitute past the 6th man and Alabama kept pressing and playing full steam and played all starters until the last second......

What's the chance of two ankle sprains in the last minute?

I'll cut Cal some slack on this one.

ZERO chance of ankle sprains to STARTERS if they are on the bench where they should have been in that situation, keep in mind the two sprains happened with under 2 minutes to play and within 24 hours our SIX quality players are going to play their 3rd game in 3 days. I'll cut Cal slack too but not on this decision. When you play only 6 you are very fortunate to make it through the entire season without one of those 6 rolling an ankle so when you do have a game in hand (forget the needed rest because of tournament situation)you get the guys who can win you games off the floor.

Doug, get a life man. If you would be a good coach at UK, you should send them your resume.

Get a life? We're talking basketball and i just happen to be on the correct side of the discussion IMO. I'm permitted to have an opinion correct? As far as replacing Cal as coach...i could never be the incredible recruiter he is..not losing starters to injury in the last two minutes of a tournament game I'm confident you or I could both do successfully.

No one can recruit like out coach Cal. But we all know he is not the floor coach that we would like him to be. We have to realize that when things like this happen. They should have been pulled out of the game. We have to understand that stupid decisions like this are going to happen with Cal at the helm and then get past it.
