Lacey only comes in if Knight leaves. He's not gonna come in as a freshmen and do like Stacey Poole, sit the bench, when he go get immediate playing time for Bama. Plus, there are some issues with him being eligible. I say leave it alone if they dont know for sure, no need in all the drama. As for Daniels, I doubt it.
I don't think it's a fair assessment that Lacey would ride the bench like Poole. They are not the same talent level. If he has an interest in being on a team that can contend, UK is it, regardless if Knight stays or not. I guess it depends on his character. THE NBA pipeline is hard to refuse....
When you have Teague, Knight, Lamb, Miller, Liggins and Gilchrist all playin before him, I think it's a pretty fair assessment. He may play some, but not the minutes he wants.
There's no doubt his playing time would be dramatically different between Alabama and Kentucky but there is something to be said for competing with the best on a daily basis in as far as his potential goes. If he has eyes for the NBA, as I'm sure he does, the best place to prepare would be at UK. Whether or not he and those in his circle can glean the wisdom of that remains to be seen. He's a scoring guard, he'll see the floor.
I really think Jones will be back, and I guess there's an outside chance Knight even comes back. That additional spot isn't so important unless Cal has a 270 pound Jr college center he's eyeballing that we don't know about. Other than that I don't see us needing much more.
Im with you Marc...i think both will be back, and mostly due to the nba problems. also, seeing the other guys from other schools staying put- if every one else was aborting then theyd be influenced by that somewhat. Hell thay got to come back for that Carolina rematch baby!
