You figure the odds are with Calipari if he keeps on knocking on the door especially since he is the expert coach when it comes to quickly reloading and quickly developing great young talent

....before he wins one. Just ONE!!! UK fans just bought their second used car but next year's model is bright and shiny (again).
The odds are not with Cal for simply recruiting well and being a good coach. This article acknowledges how much luck plays in success. You need it all - talent, coaching, luck and then, at the end, you need a tournament properly seeded and played in a standard arena, not a 77,000 seat extravaganza. The NCAA is in control of the venue and the Selection process, and luck will take a heavy toll on the eventual winner, leaving the coach a minority influence in the final outcome.
an 85,000 seat dome is a mistake for the final 4. i think thisyear proved that. look at how terrible all teams played. Lets put the teams back in the environment they played so well in!! this years Final 4 sucked and maybe they the ncaa will figure it out. Ratings means money and this year will turn alot of folks off.
The dome did not play as big a factor as you claim. The elite was held there twice in the past 3 years but this was the only year all games sucked in that particular arena. Baylor & Duke played a memorable game there last year. If Butler can figure it out twice then a $4 million dollar coach with *5 NBA players for the self-proclaimed "Best" university has no excuse. Or should I say shouldn't have any excuses but UK never cease to amaze me.
