No shot appears safe from Kentucky big man Davis By Jerry Tipton
I still feel we are going to have issues with the good teams that have true "big" centers. We do not have any weight in the middle and you can only depend on shot blocking so much.
After seeing AD play three times I am beginning to wonder why he has been so highly rated. He does obviously have great athleticism, but it seems like there is some disconnect between him and the flow of the game - just like what I saw in Orton.
We'll see how much you all change your tune when he figures out how to utilize his game. Any teams doesn't need a center It's extremely helpful but a true center isn't a necessity. The 08' Memphis squad and UL in the 80s under crum didn't have true centers. Just saying
Marc, I dont really find this to be an issue for one reason...fouls. Jones and Davis will pull big men like Ezeli out to the perimeter and force them to play perimeter defense. Centers will stay in foul trouble bc of Jones, Davis and Wiltjers versatility. And while Davis may not have the bulk and size, if he learns to stay in front of his opponent and move his feet, he could draw a lot of charges. Cal will teach him how to defend these bigger guys.

No one has to figure how to use Gilley. A star needs no prep.

Let me interpret: AD can't play in the post and Cal will teach TJ how to flop.
