After reviewing the video of Nerlen's injury, I just can't understand why the basket support at the Oconnell center is so close to the floor. According to NCAA rules on court markings, the support should be 6 feet beyond the baseline. Could Florida have violated NCAA rules and be responsible for this tragic injury?
"the support should be 6 feet beyond the baseline" is this true? If so, you are onto something. I looked at the UF video ... There is hardly 3 feet from base line to support.

Although a 'freak' accident, certainly a case to have the baskets hung from the ceiling when possible.
