Rex says the fans have been cold to him because he left early, but I don't think that is the reason. His star fell from grace because of the many articles quoting him accusing UK the school, the fans and the coaches as being racist. I might give muted applause for Tubby but this guy will never be a favorite in my book. Pratt, Macy, Bowie, Walker, Patterson etc. etc., all will be in my book of favorite UK players, but not Rex not ever. JMO
