The fall semester grades of the UK basketball team are the worst of all 20 UK athletic teams and the worst of any UK men's basketball team since spring 2002

This is a Jerry Tipton article but it is a fair one. The article also lets us know Dr. Todd feelings and gives us a touch of Sandy Bell ... the "Great" Sandy Bell.
If you are a UK fan and are not aware of this Lady's (Bell) function and contribution to the University ... then you should take note of her name now and in the future.

This is something that I often thought about this past fall. UK went from being "off the radar" to the top 5 so fast and I have never viewed Calapari as a coach that dwells on the academic side of the student-athlete very much - and I am a fan of Coach Cal, not a hater.

I hope Coach Cal will take note of this and put it in his pocket when he is out recruiting. UK needs a good number of 4 year players who wish to obtain their degrees. This cycle of 5 in and 5 out each year isn't something that I could imagine anyone at the University supporting for very long.

And yes, Sandy Bell is amazing!

Well, it's not a matter of staying four years and getting a degree. That's would be ideal. It's a matter of doing well enough in the classes you take while you're there.

Cal significantly bettered the academic progress rate at Memphis. He knows the academic side of the equation can hurt the basketball side.
