For what it's worth, here's the rumor that reader Randy Scholtz publishes in the comments to Vaught's Views:
"I have been told by someone close to the basketball team that the news, good or bad, will be out within one day of the first regular season game. Rumors are rumors but that's the talk around the team. I was also told that Coach Cal seems concerned about the outcome."
