Enes Kanter is facing extensive questioning from the NCAA about his amateur status and has not yet been cleared to play for the Wildcats this season

You would think this would have already been investigated by the NCAA, I suppose the movement by the NCAA is like most bureaucracies......slow....

The NCAA is typically swamped throughout the summer months with thousands of requests for eligibility. They would not have started a review of his case until UK applied in April. The fact that they must enter into discussion with Enes indicates his is not a routine case. IMO I think Cal might be being a little optimistic. Enes played on a Pro team which always raises red flags at the headquarters, but it is not unusual for an amateur to do that in Europe - that is the way they do it over there in areas where there is limited opportunities for talented kids to play.
The fact the NCAA is asking him questions and he is responding is a good sign.
